Sutton schoolgirls were at the centre of the action at the Aegon Tennis Championships last week.

Nonsuch High School and Saint Philomena’s School in Carshalton provided 100 ball girls for the event.

They were trained for the position by staff at their respective schools.

The Aegon Championships is a pre-Wimbledon grass court tournament, which ran from Monday, June 9, to Sunday, June 15.

Competitors included Andy Murray, Martina Hingis, and Heather Watson.

The contest took place at the Queen’s Club in West Kensington, and was won by the World No.13 Grigor Dimitrov.
