Thousands of women united at an Enfield park to give cancer a kicking at one of the borough’s biggest fundraisers.

Mighty mums, gutsy grans and feisty friends all took to Trent Park for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life on Sunday morning.

The sponsored 5km and 10km events raised tens of thousands of pounds for potentially life-saving cancer research.

Event manager Felicity Stevens said: “I want to say a heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part in Race for Life, and their supporters, as well as our heroic volunteers.

“It was a fantastic day, full of emotion, courage, tears and laughter as more than 3,520 women joined forces across London to show cancer who’s boss.

“Now I’m asking all the women who took part - and all the friends, family and colleagues who pledged to sponsor them - to transform their passion into progress by returning the money they’ve raised as soon as possible.”
