A major renovation project to a house in Leatherhead has been delayed after firefighters were called out to a blaze in the roof.
Neighbours called the fire service to the two-storey detached house in Church Road at 6.43pm on Friday, June 13, after the roof of the house caught fire.
No one was injured but the cause of the fire is under investigation.
An engine from Leatherhead was called to the scene and firefighters used an aerial ladder platform to help control the flames.
A spokesman for Leatherhead Fire Station said: “It was a fairly big fire when we got there but it was brought under control fairly quickly.
“The house was being completely renovated from top to bottom so there was nobody there and the workmen had finished.”
