Go behind-the-scenes at one of the country’s leading wildlife hospitals when it throws open its doors tomorrow.

The Wildlife Aid Foundation (WAF), in Randalls Farmhouse, Randalls Road, Leatherhead, will be holding an open day on Sunday, June 15, from 10am to 5pm.

It is the charity’s biggest fundraising event of the year, which helps it to meet the increasing costs of keeping its centre running, and is also organised as a ‘thank you’ by WAF to all of its supporters.

Visitors will get the chance to meet volunteers at the hospital and talk to them about their experiences of looking after sick and injured wildlife. There will also be stalls and activities including a tombola, arts and crafts, a human fruit machine, and a drawing competition.

There will be plenty to eat and drink, with a barbecue, bar, tea and coffee stalls and stalls selling sandwiches, cakes and more.

Admission costs £10 per car or £3 on foot.

There will be unlimited parking in the field next to the hospital.  WAF is also just a short walk from Leatherhead town centre and Leatherhead station.

Tickets for tours of the hospital are available to buy on the day on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours start at 10.10am and then at 10-minute intervals throughout the day, with the last tour at 3.50pm.  Tickets are £2.50 and under 5s can go in for free.
