An extra 100 buses will be put on to help get fans home after Saturday's match against Italy, TfL has confirmed

This Is Local London: TfL announce extra buses to ferry fans home on Saturday TfL announce extra buses to ferry fans home on Saturday

There will be extra buses provided on the night of England's first World Cup game against Italy on Saturday.

Transport for London (TfL) has said it was too late to re-arrange staffing levels on the Tube network and had concerns over safety, but will put out an extra 100 buses in the capital.

England's first World Cup game against Italy kicks off on Saturday at 11pm.

TfL manging director of surface transport, Leon Daniels, said: "We have looked very carefully at all the options and it is clear that laying on a considerable number of extra night buses is the best way to help ensure football fans can get home after watching the game.

"This is by far the most effective way of getting people home all over the capital. The fleet of over 970 buses means that there will be hugely increased services on routes serving all parts of London which are flexible enough to cope with any changes to the time the game ends and the demand from passengers.

"We will also be arranging special marshalled taxi ranks for those who would prefer to travel home that way."

The rest of England's group games against Uruguay and Costa Rica finish during normal tube operating times.

That's the daft kind of comment that Village Idiot would usually make.

After the normal times. Check with TFL. Or take a Uber Cab.

Don't worry Mossa if you are nice to the driver, he will escort you to your front door.

I think what Ms.Granville is trying to say is that there will be an extra 1000 night buses running in the evening from approximately 11:45pm to 5:30am. Please remember that fares are £2.40 for a single and all tips go to the driver, good luck England and let's all sing together:

"Back home, they'll be thinking about us
When we are far away
Back home, they'll be really behind us
In every game we play
They'll share every goal we are scoring
Out there
We will still hear them roaring
And we'll give all we've got to give
For the folks back home

Back home, they'll be watching and waiting
And cheering every move
Back home, though they think we're the greatest
That's what we've got to prove
Once more we will meet with the best
Like before we'll be put to the test
Oh we will give all we've got to give
For the folks back home

They'll see as they're watching and praying
That we put our hearts in our playing
We'll fight until the whistle goes
For the folks back home"
