A CCTV image of a man suspected of racial abuse has been released by Waltham Forest police. 

Suspect 149271 is wanted in connection with a racially aggravated public order offence at the Co-Op food and petrol station in Markhouse Road, Walthamstow, on May 6 at midday.  

The man is believed to had left his fuel cap next to the petrol pump and driven off without realising.

Upon his return, he asked a member of staff for the cap, but it had not been handed into the store. 

At this point, the suspect is reported to have racially abused a member of staff.

The CCTV image  has been released to the Guardian as part of a joint venture with the Metropolitan Police to identify potential perpetrators of unsolved crimes in the borough.
