A car has smashed into a Sainsbury’s Local shop in Chessington this morning.
It is believed a Ford and a black Astra crashed into one another causing one to slam into the North Parade shop at about 9.30am.
James Trott, of Derek Avenue, Epsom, who saw the aftermath of the crash, said: “I heard a noise but I didn’t see it actually happen.
“There was quite a hoohah around there. It was quite busy in the shop so it’s quite lucky no one was killed.”
Surbiton and New Malden firefighters attended.
London Ambulance and Kingston police both attended to reports of a car going into a building but there was no need for medical treatment.
Joe Lammin, who works in the Martin's newsagent next door, said: "It is a bit scary - I was working next door and my whole counter shook."
