Young politicians give talk to Harrow councillors
Young politicians gave a presentation to councillors new and old to share the views of young people in the borough.
Teenagers from Harrow Youth Parliament addressed members of Harrow Borough Council about the role they hope to play in the area’s future.
They highlighted their work including Youth Led Projects, which deliver activities during holidays, promoting mental health amongst young people and creating ‘stop and search’ cards.
Speaking at the event was member of UK Youth Parliament for Harrow and executive member of Harrow youth parliament Zak Wagman.
He said: “It’s important that they know who we are and what we are doing, so they can engage with us and work with us to enhance our projects, and ultimately make a difference for the youth of Harrow.
“I think it’s important that we gain their support because whilst we work hard, they have the tools, as full-time officials, to actually make an idea turn into reality, or to carry out a proper campaign on a borough-wide scale.”
