A driver who opened their car door and caused a cyclist to fall off his bike will be summoned to court.
Tim Lennon, 44, suffered bruising and pains in his chest and shoulder after the accident in North Road, near Manor Circus in Richmond, on May 18.
After he lodged a complaint with the police who he felt showed little interest, he was told the driver would have to go to court after allegedly acting illegally.
The 44-year-old said: “It sounds like the police are taking these things seriously.
“My shoulder is still a bit achy, but rode back down North Road on Saturday and Sunday with my daughter, so no permanent concern hopefully.”
The police held a performance meeting in relation to Mr Lennon’s complaint and apologised to him.
