A bereaved mother who lost her son in a car accident is hoping raise the remaining money to lay him to rest with a community day today.

Ashley Jones, 19, died with best friends Jack Boyton and Harry Ferrand, both 17, of Elsinge Estate in Bullsmoor, on November 9, 2012.

The car the three were travelling in crashed into a parked lorry on the A10 near Hoddesdon in Cheshunt. A fourth young man, Liam Bradshaw, who was also in the car, suffered severe head injuries.

However, Ashley’s family were not entitled to road traffic accident payment because he was older than 18, which left his mother Viv Fegan unable to pay to bury him alongside Jack and Harry.

So far, Ms Fegan, along with friend Danielle Prior has raised more than half the £4,000 needed and the pair will now hold a community day at Kempe Hall, in Kempe Road, Enfield in a bid to raise the rest of the money.

The charity day will last from 12pm until 4pm today and will packed with events for all the family.

A special visit from paradise wildlife park will be among the main attractions on the day as well as  bouncy castle, balloon model entertainers , tombola, face painting and a raffle.
