Dog owners and their four-legged friends can enjoy an afternoon in the great outdoors at the Princess Alice Hospice annual fete.

With performances from choirs, school music groups and martial arts displays, to archery, arts and crafts and face painting, there will be something to keep the whole family entertained.

Man’s best friend will also be in for a treat, with prizes lined up for the best veteran dog, prettiest girl, most handsome boy and the dog that looks most like its owner.

Anna Fiddimore, from the Friends of Princess Alice Hospice, said: “This is one of the highlights of our fundraising calendar and we’re hoping for a record breaking year.

“Last year was fantastic; we had 100 happy dogs and more than 1,500 visitors helping us to raise £14,400 and we’d really like to beat that this year.”

The fete and dog show takes place in the hospice grounds on Sunday, June 8, from 11am to 4pm.

Entry costs £2 for adult and under-16s go free. Free parking and a shuttle bus to the fete will be available from Garson’s.
