TALENTED Hillingdon pupils from The Harefield Academy had their work shown on the big screen on Thursday when they had the chance to showcase digital media projects to a 400-strong audience at BFI Southbank.
The event was part of AYV Live! which celebrated the work of young people across London aged 13-20 who took part in this year’s Adobe Youth Voices Programme.
Harefield’s media projects were on issues the pupils felt passionately about. Georgia Simmonds and Munib Ahmadzai introduced animations exploring animal cruelty, anorexia, racism, the environment and following your dreams, as well as a short film exploring disability and young people.
Different forms of digital media produced by young people across London included documentaries, music videos, poster campaigns and photography.
Nine of the media projects have also been shortlisted for the AYV Awards, with 1,500 entries submitted from youth around the world.
AYV is The Adobe Foundation’s philanthropic programme.
