A Claygate man will cycle from the top to bottom of Britain in nine days this summer.

Jason Peacock, 40, will get on his bike alongside two friends, Ben Morgan and James Wood, to raise £9,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

The father-of-two, who already has some cycling experience, wanted to bring fun and laughter to children suffering from serious and terminal illnesses.

Mr Peacock said: “Each year I try to take on a challenge to raise funds for charity and give me something to train for. This seemed to tick the boxes.

“Having done a bit of cycling before, I know exactly how hard this is going to be.

“I am excited and scared at the same time; intrigued to see how my body and mind will cope and can only hope the training proves effective.”

Mr Peacock and his friends will set off on July 19 and aim to complete the 1,000 miles in nine days.
