A man was taken to hospital with a head injury after an assault at the weekend.

The ambulance service was called to Epsom High Street near the clock tower at about 1.50am on Saturday.

A South East Coast Ambulance spokesman said: "Ambulance crews in a car and an ambulance attended the scene and were joined later by the air ambulance road vehicle.

"One male patient was assessed and treated at the scene and was then taken to St George’s Hospital for further treatment. His injuries included a head injury."

A Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance mission report said the patient was taken to hospital by road after an assault. A spokesman confirmed they sent a doctor and a paramedic by car to the scene.
