A man was taken to hospital suffering from burns after a fire that destroyed part of a house.

The fire brigade was called to the blaze in Churchill Avenue in Kenton, at 3.55pm on Saturday.

A man at the house escaped the fire, which damaged a large part of the roof of the house.

A total of 35 firefighters and six engines from Harrow, Stanmore, Wembley and Northolt attended the scene and crews had the fire under control by 6.05pm.
