With Wimbledon fast approaching, why not channel your inner Laura Robinson or Andy Murray through a game of Touchtennis?
After a successful season last year, Elmbridge Council and Touchtennis are working again to introduce more people to the game.
Touchtennis, created in 2003 by Elmbridge resident Rashid Ahmad, focuses more on speed of mind and strategic moves rather than strength and power, with the aim of outmanoeuvring your opponent.
The small size of the court makes it more manageable to concentrate on your technique rather than running the length or width of a full size court.
Rashid Ahmad, founder of touchtennis, said: “Elmbridge Council have been amazingly forward-thinking with their on-going support of grass roots sports. I really love the fact that children and their family can play touchtennis in open spaces for free.”
Eight Touchtennis courts are available at Churchfields Recreation Ground, Weybridge, from 11am until dusk with tennis racquets and balls available to hire from Weybridge Centre for the Community.
