A St George’s College student with a passion for French films won a competition run by Oxford University, beating students from across the country.
Eleanor Palmer, a sixth form student at the Weybridge school, was victorious at the prestigious university’s French film competition, which invites students to rewrite the ending to a selection of French films in 1,500 words.
Eleanor’s win came after she wrote an imaginative ending to comedy drama L’Auberge espagnole.
Tony Deive, head of languages at St George’s College, said: “This is a fantastic achievement especially given the number and calibre of schools that participate and that Eleanor won the category for both lower and upper sixth form students.
“We are very proud of Eleanor and look forward to seeing her winning entry on the faculty pages of Oxford University’s website.”
