Schoolchildren helped draw animation for an international charity’s annual media campaign.

Pupils from Stanburn Junior School in Stanmore, helped illustrate the television advert for international development charity Christian Aid.

The ad is part of the charity's Christian Aid Week, which this year focuses on the plight of families and communities affected by conflict around the world.

Children in Year 4 drew pictures depicting the story of 12-year-old Wayisaba from the Democratic Republic of Congo, who was separated from her parents but eventually reunited with them with the help of Christian Aid.

Teacher Adrienne Ashley said: “It was a really worthwhile experience in developing the children's awareness of some of the problems in the world and showing them some of the great work done by Christian aid.

“They also had a fantastic time designing the art work."
