A woman in her 20s was cut from her car after an accident with a cement mixer in Surbiton yesterday.

The accident happened at about 5.20pm in Ewell Road, outside Dysart School.

A silver Mini is believed to have collided with a cement mixer.

Ewell Road was closed for more than an hour by police as paramedics treated the driver of the Mini while firefighters cut her from her car.

Motorcyclist Kenny Evans captured these pictures of the accident from the camera on his crash helmet.

Mr Evans, who works as a senior technician at Kingston University's Moving Image department, said: "The whole road was closed and they had the jaws of life cutting the woman out of the car.

"There was a paramedic giving her a mask to help her breathe as the firemen cut the roof off.

"It looked like there was a cement truck involved and it had been pulled into the car park of a school [Dysart]."

A London Ambulance spokeswoman said the woman, who was in her 20s or 30s, suffered back and neck injuries, and was taken to Kingston Hospital as a priority.

She was conscious and breathing throughout, the spokeswoman added.
