The Walthamstow tapestry by artist Grayson Perry has been bought by a prestigous Chinese art school, according to reports.

The China Academy of Art in Hangzhou is said to have purchased the homage to E17, which has previously been been on display at the William Morris Gallery.

The price of the work, which the 54-year-old artist made in 2009 in his Walthamstow studio, has not been disclosed.

The sale of the tapestry was arranged through the Victoria Miro gallery, according to The Independent.
