Eleven arrests in west London drug operation
A major police drugs operation in west London has seen 11 people arrested.
A premises in Richmond was searched along with one each in Hounslow and Ealing and 11 in Hillingdon as part of the year-long intelligence investigation to target drug-dealing and antisocial behaviour.
Those arrested, aged between 20 and 40, remain in custody at various west London police stations at this time pending further enquiries.
They were arrested at 15 addresses on suspicion of numerous drugs-related offences and handling stolen goods.
Officers have seized a quantity of class A and B drugs, including wraps of cocaine, along with cash and stolen goods.
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Turner said: “Today’s actions are just one example of how we have powerfully acted on community concerns and intelligence relating to criminality.
“Since the start of this operation last year we have successfully secured the conviction of 18 individuals - some of whom are prolific offenders - who are now serving prison terms of approximately 50 years in combined total.
“These results have without question had an exceptionally positive impact on the everyday lives of our communities.”
