A patient in his 20s fell to his death from a hospital tower on Friday evening.
The man fell at 6.20pm from a tower at Epsom Hospital and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust confirmed that the man had been using their services at Epsom Hospital.
The trust said: "He fell from a tower and he was pronounced dead at the scene. We offer our sincere condolences to his family.
"We are currently supporting Surrey Police with their enquiries."
A spokeswoman said she believed it was a water tower.
The trust has three mental health wards, with about 30 patients on average, at Epsom Hospital.
A Surrey Police spokesman said: "An investigation will now take place into the circumstances surrounding the death but at this stage it is not believed there was any third party involvement."
