Kwame Gyanfi jailed after heroin and cocaine worth £150,000 found in his home in Waddon Road, Croydon
A drug dealer ‘caught red handed’ by police who found heroin and cocaine with a street value of £150,000 at his home has been jailed for seven-and-a-half years.
Kwame Gyanfi was stopped as he tried to get into his address in Waddon Road, Croydon, by officers who had arrived to execute a search warrant.
When they searched the 31-year-old they found he was carrying approximately 1kg of heroin in a holdall.
And inside the property they found another kilogram of heroin, 250g of crack cocaine, as well as other items including hydraulic press machines and 27.5kg of cutting agents.
Gyanfi was arrested at the scene on August 9 last year and then charged the following day with possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
He pleaded guilty to the offence at Croydon Crown Court on February 18 and sentenced at the same court today.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Kieran Given said: "Gyanfi's arrest and conviction was as a result of a well planned operation and he was literally caught red-handed as we arrested him carrying a hold-all with a kilo of heroin inside.
"Drug dealers cause serious harm to our communities and we will carry on targeting those involved in the supply of drugs in Croydon.
“This investigation came about from information we received from the local community and it shows that we can achieve real success in ridding neighbourhoods of drugs by working together."
