A golf club captain got into the swing of it when he hit his first ever hole in one at a charity event.

Ronnie Cohen was one of 88 people from Potters Bar Golf Club who helped raise £11,000 for MacMillan Nurses, Jewish Care and Camp Simcha.

The event, held at the Darkes Lane club, saw Mayor of Hertsmere Paul Morris present the runners up and winners with prizes.

Marian Scott, chairman of the committee that organised the event, said: “The charity day committee have been organising charity golf days for the past 30 years.

“The days are always great fun and raise much needed funds to support vulnerable people in our community. Our thanks go to everyone who attended and supported it.”
