An overturned car has caused chaos on the roads in Dartford - Home Gardens remains closed while police assess the damage.

Kent police were called to just before 7am this morning to reports that a black Vauxhall Meriva had collided with a lamppost and flipped on to its side.

South East Coast Ambulance Service treated a woman for suspected collar bone injuries at the scene before transferring her to Darent Vally Hospital.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "The road is currently closed while the vehicle is recovered and any damage caused to the lampost is assessed."

Kent Fire and Rescue were called to the scene at 6.57am.

A spokesman for the fire and rescue service said: "We were called to reports of a car that had rolled on to its side. 

"One car was involved. The driver was an adult female, who was out of the vehicle on arrival and was being checked over by paramedics so no cutting was involved.

"We put in a stop call at 7.14am."
