Police are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward after a man was assaulted in Wandsworth High Street last night.

Police were called at 9.18pm on Tuesday May 6 following reports of an assault.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man in his 40s suffering from head injuries.

He was taken by London Ambulance Service to a West London hospital for treatment of his injuries. He has since been discharged.

Police are keen to trace five suspects who were seen to flee the scene of the assault.

The first suspect is described as a black male of Somali heritage, aged 16, 5ft 6ins, with curly black hair.

The second suspect is described as a black male of Somali heritage, aged 16, wearing a rain coat with a hood.

The third suspect is described as a black male of Somali heritage, aged 16.

The fourth suspect is described as a black female with a pony tail last seen wearing a grey tracksuit, aged 16.

The fifth suspect is described as a black female wearing bright coloured clothing, aged 16.

This incident is not believed to be gang-related, police said.

No arrests have been made. Enquires are continuing by police in Wandsworth.
