As the sun shone down on Oxshott, families came together to enjoy a day of fun in the great outdoors.

More than 5,000 people enjoyed the seventh annual Oxshott Village Day on bank holiday Monday, with attractions to suit all ages.

From the traditional fairground rides, clowns and Punch and Judy shows to a climbing wall and visiting ferrets, there was plenty to keep youngsters busy.

Old favourites like the coconut shy, penalty shoot out and bungee trampolines also proved to be crown pleasers.

The weather was certainly on the village’s side, with families making a day of it and spreading out on the grass to enjoy picnics of hog roasts, burgers, chilli, cupcakes and much more.

This year’s chosen beneficiary is the Royal Kent School, Oakshade Road, which will use donated funds to buy specialist equipment to help with IT based teaching.

The Oxshott Village Day will return again next year on Monday, May 4.
