Youngsters and staff from a leading children’s charity dished out drinks and jelly babies at a police rugby charity challenge.

The Children’s Trust, based in Tadworth, supported runners and two cyclists from the Metropolitan Police Rugby Football Club at a fundraising event this week.

The kids’ charity, which supports those with complex disabilities and acquired brain injuries, has been chosen as one of its benefitting charities.

Nicole Lavelle, the trust’s community fundraising manager, said: "It was great that we were able to get involved and cheer them on as they stopped en route."

The rugby team’s 90th anniversary celebrations will culminate with a tournament and tour to New York in June.
