Known as ‘the singers’ singer’, Joe Longthorne is bringing his unique blend of music and impersonation to Hayes for an intimate show showcasing his 40-year career in the business.

In his live show Joe mimics some of the worlds’ singing stars with impersonations so accurate it is as if they have joined Joe on stage.

“I chat with the audience, ask them what they want me to sing and who they want me to impersonate.

“There’ll be some of my own original tunes in there, which people seem to be enjoying, plus all my popular covers.“

Joe slips effortlessly from ballad, to jazz, blues and rock and roll on all his albums. The latest, Lady Blue, is a collection of Joe’s own songs.

He first came to the public eye as a singer and impressionist on LWT’s Search for a Star in 1981 and his success led to appearances at the London Palladium and his own TV show. Since then he has packed out the Royal Albert Hall and toured extensively across Australia and the USA.

The singer is also well known for his fundraising work. For tirelessly campaigning on behalf of charities such as the Anthony Nolan Trust and DCWC Nepal, Joe was bestowed with a silver heart award from the Variety Club of Great Britain in 2010 in recognition of his work and dedication to these causes.

In June 2012, Joe was honoured with an MBE by The Queen for services to entertainment and charity work.

Joe Longthorne is at The Beck Theatre, Grange Road, Hayes, on Sunday, May 4.
