The controversial landlord licensing scheme will be debated once more at a scrutiny meeting this evening.
Councillors will be debating the scheme which will see all landlords in Enfield sign up to a licensing scheme that will cost £500 over a five-year period.
Landlords that apply early can get a 50 per cent discount.
The plan aims to reduce the level of antisocial behaviour in the borough however Conservative Councillor Terry Neville believes it is logistically impossible.
He said: “There are over 26,000 landlords in the borough and this will cause a huge amount of paperwork for every single landlord.
“This will also show many people that antisocial behaviour is so bad in the borough that it might drive people away from the area.”
The scheme will be debated tonight at the Civic Centre in Silver Street, Enfield Town.
