Foster carers are being treated to a special performance of a new play telling the story of a man who was brought up by foster parents.
Inspired by her own childhood growing up in a family that fostered children over many years, writer and director Rachel Yates will showcase her play, All I’ve known, on Thursday May 15 at the artsdepot in North Finchley.
The Chickenshed Theatre Company will perform the play, which is about a man ready to reconnect with the family that loved him deeply.
Nicola Francis, director of family services, said: “Social events such as these are just one of the many ways we support our foster carers. We are proud of the role our foster carers play in shaping and transforming young people’s lives so it is important to us that they have the confidence and support to keep on doing this.”
Residents are also being given the chance to apply for ten pairs of free tickets for the show.
To enter, email fostering@barnet.gov.uk or call 020 8359 6274. Winners will be notified by Friday, May 9.
