Transplant survivor gets dream chance to tour Twickenham Stoop
An 11-year-old bone marrow transplant survivor’s dreams came true when he experienced a behind the scenes tour of the Twickenham Stoop.
Alex Hannard, who had chronic granulomatous disorder diagnosed in 2007, was given a life saving transplant and toured the Harlequins’ stadium with his father David on Good Friday before they watched the Leicester Tigers match.
The rare genetic condition affects the immune system and Harlequins are supporting Anthony Nolan, the blood cancer charity.
Mr Hannard said: “It was terrific for us to attend the match as special guests of the Harlequins and Anthony Nolan. We had a fantastic time.
“The game was brilliant and Alex’s day was made when he got to meet some of the players.”
