Hundreds of people enjoyed live music, games and street food at a colourful Easter Monday festival in Tottenham High Road.

The event, organised for the first time by the Tottenham Traders Partnership (TTP) and various community groups, was held across three separate locations at White Hart Lane, Bruce Grove and Seven Sisters.

A Latin street party, classic car show and football games with members of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation were just some of a series of activities and attractions that brought the High Road to life among a colourful array of Easter bonnets and costumes.

A parade that was planned for the event was cancelled two weeks ago after organisers failed to obtain a road closure, but the street party went ahead as planned on Monday.

Other attractions included an Army stall, face painting, DJs and bands, and organiser Moaz Nanjuwany, of the TTP, said the event was a resounding success.

He said: “We wanted to give Tottenham a feel-good factor. Businesses are having a hard time because people aren’t getting onto the high street, but this was very good and we have shown people that Tottenham can have fun.”
