A bungalow in Walton has been left uninhabitable after a fire broke out in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Firefighters were called to Fieldcommon Lane at 3.22am on Wednesday, April 23, and spent three hours tackling the blaze.
Fire engines from Esher, Walton, Painshill and Sunbury attended and firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus, three hose reels and two jets to bring the fire under control.
The homeowner was in the property when the fire broke out, but was able to get out before crews arrived.
An Esher firefighter said the property is now “unoccupiable” and “in a bad way”.
The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation.
