A new discount store is to be opened in Leytonstone.
One of Europe’s biggest pound shop companies, Poundland, will come to the High Road on May 1.
The store will be on the site of the old Primark shop and will create 20 jobs for the community.
Poundland’s Trading Director, Richard Lancaster, said that he is ‘delighted’ to be trading in Leytonstone.
The company was recently criticised by Labour and Liberal Democrat councillors in Waltham Forest after announcing its plan to bring a store to Palace Parade in Walthamstow.
Councillors claimed that they sell low-quality goods and are not good for the community.
There is another store in The Mall in Walthamstow.
