Young bookworms tried their hand at writing, drawing and designing book covers when they met a local children’s author.
Deborah Daley visited Stoneleigh Community Library earlier this month for a two-hour creative workshop based around her book The Harp of Elvyth.
The 25 children who attended also met Sarah Aumeer who designed the artwork for the book cover and heard exclusive extracts from the second book in the series, The Dragon Flyers, which is due to be published later this year.
The youngsters were given the chance to write and draw, design book covers and make models at the event, some of whose work will be on display at the library on April 23 when it will be open from 3pm to 7pm to celebrate World Book Night.
Another local author, Elizabeth Norton, a renowned historian and archaeologist who specialises in the Tudor period, will be talking about her books at the library on this night, including those on Anne Boleyn. Tickets for this event are available from Stoneleigh Library.
