A rapper from Leyton has entered the running for the nation’s new favourite World Cup Song.

The catchy track ‘Alive and Kickin’’ was released on the internet this morning and has already won praise from YouTube users calling it ‘amazing’ and ‘crazy’.

Shak Warner aka Reddz filmed the video at 40 different football stadiums, at home and on the set of Soccer AM.

The 25-year-old producer, rapper and actor who grew up watching Leyton Orient games from his bedroom window said that he wanted to make a track which football fans would appreciate.

He said: “I am a massive football fan. There’s never really been an uplifting Word Cup song.

“I tried to keep it football based rather than commercial. It’s not glossy like the others. “It took us a good couple of weeks to film the video. I wanted to go to clubs all over, we went to smaller clubs, too.

“It’s a song for football fans, the lyrics are about football.”

Footballers themselves praised the tune with Leyton Orient’s Shaun Batt dancing on the track and Manchester City star Yaya Toure also being featured.

Rapper Reddz of Windsor Road said that he has high hopes for the track.

“He (Yaya Toure) listened to it through the headphones and said he really liked it.

“Sometimes the unofficial World Cup track does better than the official one so that would be great,” He added.

Mr Warner who also owns his own clothing line will introduce the track at Leyton Orient’s home game on Monday.
