Almost all Sutton's children going to primary school in September have been allocated one of their six preferences - although almost four per cent have not.

Parents of children approaching school age are asked to choose up to six preferences in terms of the school they wish to go to. Allocations based on those preferences have been revealed today with parents finding out what schools their children will go to from 7pm today.

Just over 84 per cent of pupils heading to Sutton's primary schools have been given their first choice - one of the highest rates in London - and eight per cent will go to their second choice.

However, 3.8 per cent have not been given one of their six preferences meaning they will have to go to a school they do not want to go to.
