Must have been pretty serious as it is still tapped off just now as i tried to come back home .Hope poor guy is ok. Knew something like this would happen no one seems to know quite how to use the new road layout - pedestrians especially the old are confused!

If it has occurred because of the ridiculous new layout, then it really is a disgrace as people have been predicting something like this ever since its been there. Hope the old boy is ok.

totally agree i was actually only talking to my elderly father about this this morning about the new system they have in welling, they have taken the Island out at welling corner meaning elderly or disabled now have to try and cross the large road before traffic lights change - and they change pretty quick.Who ever makes these road changes do NOT think about the community that use them.
As a driver and pedestrian at times we really are not sure what is road and unsafe and what is pavement and safe for people to walk. The Broadway is a nightmare!! why they hell did they waste so much money. Traffic lights people can see or hear. The blind/partially sighted or old people now have no idea when it is safe to cross! Disgusting!!!

Back in September my mother who was in her mobility scooter, was hit by a bus, luckily she wasn't hurt.
Although I complained to the council stressing it was only a matter of time before someone is badly hurt or killed, nothing was done about it.
Surely someone at the council must have some common sense, and reinstate the pedestrian lights, or will it it take a death before it happens.
