A woman who runs a charity to help homeless people in Haringey is to give a talk about how communities can help those who have fallen on hard times.

Lea Leonis, the chief executive of All People All Places, will be the guest speaker for the Muswell Hill and Fortis Green Association’s April Talk.

Ms Leonis said: “I was literally walking past evidently homeless people on our streets in Haringey and, having been in paid work in the homeless sector, knew how very little was available to this section of people – called the hidden homeless – in Haringey.

“I wondered what hope there was for a homeless person to get back into accommodation and work.

“It is very difficult to hold down a job unless you have somewhere to sleep and wash and eat."

All People All Places now serves as the only entry point for a homeless person who does not have any support and wants to get back into the system.

Ms Leonis will be speaking about the hidden homeless, the work of her charity, and how schools, scouts, local businesses and local residents can be involved.

The talk will take place on Wednesday, April 16, at 7.30 pm at the North Bank Methodist Church, in Pages Lane, Muswell Hill.
