Detectives are hunting a sex attacker who assaulted a woman in Redhill.

The woman, aged in her 20s, was walking in Park Road when she was approached from behind by a man who indecently touched her over her clothing. The man, described as white, aged in his 40s or 50s, slightly overweight and around 5ft 11ins tall, struck on Saturday (April 12) between 8.30pm and 8.50pm.

A Surrey Police spokeswoman said: “He was wearing an anorak and may have had an injury or disability to one of his arms.”

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Sailesh Limbachia, said: "The victim must be commended for her bravery and the fact she was able to provide quite a detailed description of the offender following the assault.”

Det Sgt Limbachia said: "I would like to ask anyone who was in the Park Road area of Redhill around the time the offence occurred, to contact police, as they may hold information vital to our investigation.

"If you can help us with our investigation please contact us, or the independent charity Crimestoppers as a matter of urgency.”

The spokeswoman said detectives are carrying out a number of enquiries in the local area, including house-to-house calls and checking CCTV footage.
