Two years ago one of our Surrey Comet reporters was given a vital task – to keep alive the Kingston in Bloom competition.

Kingston Council left a void when it pulled funding for the competition and regular entrant Graham Rollinson asked us to help.

Handing out the prizes generously donated by companies include John Lewis – including one in memory of Mary Rollinson, which had so much meaning to Graham – was an early highlight of my role as assistant editor.

This year we need a committee to assist Sarah Partridge Finucane – a Tolworth businesswoman who ran the competition last year.

If you can help this year by giving up your time and skills please get in touch with me on 020 8744 4244.
