Crayford Road is flooded due to a burst water main and around 230 houses will be without water as the pipe is repaired.

Thames Water is aware of the problem, which occurred this morning when a 10in-wide pipe burst.

Engineers arrived at 11.30am and have closed off the main as they try to fix the pipe.

Robert Kennard caught these pictures of the devestation.

The 19-year-old, of West Hill said: “I was shocked by the sheer volume of water.

“As you head to Crayford from Dartford, the concrete has warped all the way along because of the water, which is all muddy.

“I’ve never seen that area so flooded. The water went all up the side of my car.

“At the roundabout it is flooded by a foot and the water is flowing down the hill into Crayford.

“None of the roads were closed off but it’s quite dangerous so I think they’re going to have to close them.”

Lauren Watson tweeted: "Crayford is a lake right now."

Kent999s tweeted: "CRAYFORD: Watch out on the A207 Crayford Road as a water main has burst."

A Thames Water spokeswoman said: "Our engineers are dealing with the incident.

"The flooding should subside as they have closed the water main off.

"Around 230 houses will be affected as our team repair the issue."
