A company which has worked at the Royal Albert Hall is now tasked with restoring a fire-ravaged mansion.
Epsom Councillor Eber Kington said a company called Watts has been appointed to oversee the restoration of Ewell Court House after a huge fire in December.
Coun Kington, who visited the building on Tuesday, said: "The fans to create air movement and dry out the building and prevent mould growing are on 24/7."
But he said: "Plaster continues to fall from the ceiling and walls.
"I understand that the ceilings are constructed of (wood) laths and plaster and as the water soaked nails start to rust their heads come off and the plaster falls down.
"Wall coverings have been removed to allow the plaster to dry. However, if the plaster does not dry that too will be removed."
He said conservationists assessed the damage to the plaster work and ensured there is no further damage to leaded lights and fittings.
He added: "One chimney stack and one dormer window are in dangerous condition and may have to be taken down before the restoration work can start. They will be reconstructed in due course."
