Police are investigating a road collision between a car whose driver fled the scene and a cyclist who died the next day.

Officers were called at about 10.25pm on Friday, April 4, to reports of a male cyclist injured in Clapham Manor Street, Clapham.

The 26-year-old man was taken to a south London hospital but died on Saturday.

Next of kin are aware and formal identification has taken place.

A post-mortem examination will take place today at Greenwich mortuary.

After the incident a car was seen making off from the scene. The car was a black BMW 5 series with black tinted windows.

Prior to the incident the car was seen in Clapham High Street and turned into Clapham Manor Street. It carried on north on Clapham Manor Street.

There have been no arrests.
