Orpington woman comes home to find 'front door wide open, house totally ransacked'
An Orpington woman is "beyond heartbroken" after she came home from work to find her house "totally ransacked".
The woman, who does not want to be named, lives in Homefield Rise and said the incident happened on Saturday (April 5).
She told News Shopper: "I came home from work with my two small children to find our front door wide open.
We had been burgled and the house including my babies rooms was totally ransacked.
"I am beyond heartbroken. I work to set an example to my children, and while I am hard at work some low-life, cold-hearted scum is going through my private possessions all to earn a quick pound note.
"If anyone has any information regarding any of these burglaries please do the right thing and do not hesitate to contact the police, it can be anonymous.
"We need to pull together and ensure we do all we can as a community to make it more difficult for burglaries to take place.
"You never know it could be your family targeted next."
A police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm police were called on April 5 following reports of a burglary at an address at Homefield Rise, Orpington
"The victim stated she had left the location at 8am that morning upon her return at 6.30pm she noticed the front door had been forced open
"Upon entering the property she noticed various rooms ransacked with cash stolen.
"The incident is being investigated by the serious acquisitive unit at Bromley.
"Anyone with information on this offence should contact police by dialling 101."
