A car chase in Eltham ended with a "police dog sat" on the suspect's face.
Twelve firefighters were called to Windcrofts Drive at 3.41am today following a car crash.
A firefighter who attended the scene told News Shopper: "There was a police chase and a car crashed.
"The driver tried to get out and run away but the cops got him and he was being pinned down by a police dog that was sitting on his face."
A police spokesman said: "Officers approached a male in a car near Falconwood railway station. The car then made off.
"The police vehicle, a dog unit, pursued the car. In Wincrofts Drive the car was in collision with another two parked vehicles.
"The driver then decamped but was detained by officers from the dog unit soon after. A police dog assisted in the arrest."
The driver was taken to a south London hospital and was later discharged.
He was then arrested and is currently in custody at a south London police station.
