An MP has given his support to a national campaign highlighting the power of research in the battle against cancer.

Bob Blackman MP attended Cancer Research UK’s parliamentary presentation on the vital role of research in saving the lives of people with cancer.

Every year around 29,000 people in London and more than 330,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer, but survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years thanks to research into treatment.

The representative for Harrow East said: “It’s a real eye-opener to visualise the number of lives saved in terms of seats in the House of Commons.

“It is truly inspiring to see what research can achieve. That’s why I’m backing Cancer Research UK’s campaign to make every moment count in the fight against cancer and I’m encouraging everyone to join me.”

It's so easy to forget that unless research is conducted on an ongoing basis, often world -wide many,of the cures and medications which help extend lives struck with diseases such as Cancer could simply be lost. That would be such an unnecessary and tragic loss for all human-kind.Cancer is often treatable and also curable in some cases depending on how soon it is diagnosed.

It's good to remind ordinary folk of the importance of supporting these important works behind the scenes so that we manage to crack on and find solutions and possible cures to beat Cancer.

How do we actually support this work? The web-site on Cancer UK has details of how one may make donations on a regular basis or one off or even remember to make provision in one's Will. It's one well worth considering and seriously supporting.
