School sports teams from Haringey helped the borough clinch a London-wide competition featuring the best young sporting talents.
Haringey was crowned champion of the Balfour Beatty London Youth Games schools finals, which took place in Crystal Palace on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The games feature schools from 33 London boroughs, all representing their local area in a series of heats across 30 sports before the grand finals.
Haringey became the third borough in as many years to win the championship, with St Thomas More Catholic School’s Year 7 girls winning the sports hall athletics competition, and Alexandra Park School collecting bronze in the badminton Key Stage 3 boys event.
Greig City Academy’ girls basketball players had earlier won the under-14 gold and under 16 silver on Friday 28 March to contribute to the final points tally.
