A man found guilty of murdering a man in a busy street has been told he will serve at least 23 years behind bars.

Kristofer Sait Guler, of no fixed abode, was given the life term at Southwark Crown Court two days after he was convicted of killing 44-year-old Rodney Adams.

Mr Adams was stabbed in the buttock in a seemingly unprovoked attack at the corner of Green Lanes and St Ann’s Road on September 11.

He died of his wounds later that evening and Guler was arrested three days later in Birmingham.

A jury at Southwark Crown Court found Guler guilty of the killing on Wednesday, and a judge yesterday sentenced the 31-year-old to a life term with a minimum of 23 years.
